This is a most appreciated gift, for someone else or for yourself: a pair of pocket-sized notebooks from our favorite letterpress printer in Portland, Oregon. Each notebook (4-1/8" x 5-3/4") is perfect bound with 112 lined pages. The soft covers are embossed with gold foil on recycled paper.
The cover of “Thoughts” is a pale buff-colored pink, with a quote from Hamlet, “This above all, to those own self be true.”
The cover of “Notes” is a pale sage color, with a quote from The Merchant of Venice: “How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
The letterpress studio—in business for more than 20 years—was founded on a green approach to manufacturing. Paper made at the studio is from fiber that is 100% cotton, acid-free, and recovered from the garment industry. The machine-made envelopes that accompany some of the printed work is made from 100% post-consumer waste. The studio supports wind energy, (and uses this sustainable power option to run the business), uses soy inks, citrus solvents, and some antique presses that date back over 100 years.
