Pens :
Mark Twain Crescent Roller Ball Pen
In 1903, Mark Twain became a spokesman for The Conklin Pen Co., established in 1898, and considered one of the most significant manufacturers in "the golden age of fountain pens." Twain promoted the Crescent pen, extolling its virtues in a series of ads in which he stated "... I prefer it because it is a profanity saver; it cannot roll off the desk." Available in the original black chased model, these pens are exact replicas of the original. The barrel is accented with a sterling silver clip and band with Mark Twain's signature. With purchase of a Crescent pen, receive a free set of 25 bookplates, based on the design of the cover of the first edition of
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
, created for the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford.
